Donald G. Ouimette

BEVERLY, Mass. - Donald G. Ouimette, 67, son of the late Joseph and Madelyn (Blair) Ouimette, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Beverly Hospital.

Born in Manchester, N.H., Donald grew up there and attended Manchester Central High School. He then began his 27-year service in the U.S. Army. Donald did three tours of duty in Germany and two tours of duty in Korea. Following his retirement, Donald worked as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Salem until his retirement.

He was a Lifetime Member of the VFW and a member of the NRA. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting and being on his boat. He loved to joke and was very fond of his cars. Donald was a one-of-a-kind man and will truly be missed.

Surviving him are three daughters, Dawn Strople and her husband William, of Rockport; Karine Cherry and her husband Kevin, of Cleveland, Tenn., and Terry Lynn Myers and her husband Terry, of Harrisburg, Pa.; three sisters, Jerilyn Maynard and her husband Ronald, of Hudson, N.H., Shirley Lambiris of Laconia, N.H., and Nancy Reichard and her husband Paul, of Warner, N.H.; six grandchildren, Lindsey and Alyssa Strople, Korey, Karissa, Kayla "Kristen", and Kurtis Cherry; along with many nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs.


services: A graveside service will be held at Central Cemetery in Beverly, on Thursday at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Donald's Memory to the National WWII Memorial Fund, 17th Street, Independence Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20006.
