TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - Edward Robert "Soupie" Cashin, 75 died peacefully at his home on July 7, 2013.
Bob was born on Jan. 12, 1938, in Manchester, N.H., son of John F. and Julia Mae (Clear) Cashin.
He graduated from Bishop Bradley High School in 1956 and served in the U.S. Army
from 1957 to 1960. He was a pipefitter with R.C. Peabody Co. at Anheuser Busch Co. and was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local No. 131. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
10167 in Holiday, the Irish American Club, Henry J. Sweeney Post No. 2 and the Raphael Club where he previously served as president. He resided in Manchester, N.H., until 2003.
He is survived by daughters, Renee (Cashin) Fortin and her husband Brian Fortin of Candia, N.H., Julia Cashin and her husband Justin Oberbauer of Tiburon, Calif., four grandchildren, Kyle and Mitchel Fortin and Blake and Reed Oberbauer, brothers John F. Cashin Jr. and William B. Cashin of Manchester, N.H., former spouse Helene Cashin, several nieces, nephews, many close friends and companion Ellie Nicole of Tarpon Springs. Bob was predeceased by his brother James J. Cashin Sr.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen on July 31, at 1 p.m., followed by a reception in Manchester. Relatives and friends are invited to join. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, 33760.
