WOLFEBORO -- Emma Boles, 84, died Aug. 20, 2010, at Wolfeboro Bay Care and Rehabilitation.
She lived at the Ledges for many years prior to moving to Wolfeboro Bay Care due to her decline in health.
She was born May 2, 1926, in Lowell, Mass., to Edmond and Laura (Alley) Grenier of Somersworth.
She was the widow of her one love, William H. Boles .
While enlisted in the U.S. Army Nurses Corps as a second lieutenant, she met her husband in San Antonio, Texas, and they married July 12, 1949, in Phoenix, Ariz.
They lived in San Francisco, Dover and Framingham, Mass. In 1977, after her husband's death, she returned to Somersworth. She moved to Wolfeboro in 1999 after retiring from 52 years of nursing.
Family includes daughter Mary "Terry" Kennedy of Alton Bay; one grandson and two great-grandchildren.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 85 Mill St., Wolfeboro.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Katharine Drexel Church in Alton.
