PEMBROKE - Ester M. (Colognatti) Brasley, 82, a resident of Pembroke for almost 60 years, died Dec. 8, 2012, at the Epsom Health Care Center.
Ester was born in Trieste, Italy on Oct. 19, 1930. She married William Brasley in March of 1954 and moved to the United States and New Hampshire later that year.
She spent many years with Thomas Hodgdon & Sons and Waumbec Mills. Prior to her retirement, she worked housekeeping for the New Hampshire State Hospital.
Ester was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of both the John J. Maguire American Legion Post #28 and the Suncook Valley VFW
Post #2860. She loved flowers, the opera, singing and dancing.
She was the widow of William Brasley, who died in 2011, and to whom she had been married 57 years. Ester was also predeceased by her father; her mother, Anna (Anetuzza) Naccari Colognatti; and her three siblings, Lina, Anita, and Guido.
Mrs. Brasley is survived by three children, Lucien Brasley and his wife, Barbara of Pembroke; retired U.S. Army 1st Sergeant Ronald Brasley of Lebanon, Pa., and Marina Whittemore and her husband, Chriss of Franklin; five grandchildren, Annette, Katie, Vanessa, Matthew and Cheyanne; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Josh, and Samantha; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main St., Pembroke.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown, followed by burial in St. John the Baptist Cemetery and then a luncheon at the American Legion Post #28.
