Gerard L. Deshaies

MANCHESTER - Gerard L. "Jerry" Deshaies, 71, of Manchester, passed away in Manchester after a period of declining health on Nov. 20, 2012.

He was born on June 12, 1941, in Manchester, the son of Gerard T. and Marguerite (Molderez) Deshaies. He was raised and educated in Manchester and lived for many years in Arizona.

Gerard served honorably in the Army National Guard for many years, which included a period of active duty in the early 1960s.

He worked as a housing maintenance manger both here in Manchester and in Arizona. He had also worked at Swenson Granite.

He was an avid scuba diver and fisherman. He enjoyed reading, with this favorites being of the historical, governmental and political genres.

He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Cheryl Ann Deshaies, and his parents, Gerard and Marguerite Deshaies.

Surviving family members include his children, Susan Houle of Webster, Mark Deshaies of Concord and Stephani Diaz-Bernal of Glendale, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Randi Houle, Peter Houle, D'artagna Diaz and Zxavian Diaz; brother Roger Deshaies of Bow; two sisters, Joanne Leach of Manchester and Donna Provost of Madison Heights, Va. He also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
