PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Madelyn C. Schell, 92, of Port St. Lucie, passed away Dec. 21, 2012, at St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Madelyn was a resident of Port St. Lucie since the 1970s, moving from Connecticut, where she resided five years, and then from Commack, Long Island, N.Y.
Before retirement, Mrs. Schell was employed by J.C. Penney in administration, and later she worked in Sales.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Port St. Lucie.
When she first moved to Florida she started the "Fantastics," a swimming group at Spanish Lakes. Madelyn was also very involved with the blind and visually impaired.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Schell in 1988. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Charles and George Meisenheimer; one grandson, Peter N. Cirnigliaro and one great-grandson, Joshua Dunn.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan Cirnigliaro and husband, Peter of Palm Bay and Manchester, N.H. and Jean Pardee of Hudson, N.H.; five grandchildren, Jennifer Pardee, Jocelyn Guerriero, Michael Cirnigliaro, Donna Dunn and Karen Gekas and seven great-grandchildren, Zachary Guerriero, Helainna Gekas, Peter J. Gekas, Julianna Gekas, Taylor Cirnigliaro, Reanna Cirnigliaro and Tony Cirnigliaro; one brother, Anthony Meisenheimer and several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Memorial services will be held in the spring in Florida and New Hampshire.
