BERLIN - Marion Cloutier passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at the age of 99.
She was born Marie Anne LeClerc on Sept. 17, 1913, in Berlin, the daughter of Joseph and Lea Lemieux LeClerc. She grew up in a large and loving family and made friends easily and for life. Her family and home were her pride and joy.
In 1934 she married Octave Cloutier, the love of her life, and together they raised four daughters.
She was widowed in 1974, just weeks after their 40th wedding anniversary. In 1988 she lost her daughter, Priscilla and her grandson Matt Labbe died in 2007.
At the age of 75 she moved to Concord to be closer to her daughters and started a whole new adventure. She had a strong faith and was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
She loved to travel, decorating her homes and trying new recipes. She created several beautiful quilts, each stitch by hand, and she started painting in her 80s, always with the thought of sharing these gifts with those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings.
She is survived by her three daughters, Rita and Robert Calamari of Durham, Janet and Lawrence Labbe of Green Valley, Ariz., and Paulette Cloutier of Pembroke; also, two grandsons, Robert Jr. and Brenda Calamari, Phillip Labbe; one great granddaughter, Marissa Calamari; and many nieces and nephews; and very dear friends.
