Manchester - Martin D. Jacobsen, 61, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2014, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, surrounded by his loving family after a very happy life full of love.He was born on Aug. 18, 1952, in Wolfeboro, the son of Thomas S. Jacobsen of Ossipee and the late Annie (Libby) Jacobsen, who died in January.He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War
.Martin had previously worked at Polycom as a systems administrator.He enjoyed skiing and sailing. His greatest joy was to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his selflessness and generosity, but above all else, Martin will be remembered for his unwavering devotion as a husband, father, son, grandfather, brother and friend.Family members include his wife of 28 years, Debra (Mullen) Jacobsen of Manchester; five children, Julie Noel of Windham, Amy Campbell of Manchester, Robin Jacobsen of Manchester, Holly Potwin of Stafford, Va., and Eric Jacobsen of Manchester; eight grandchildren, Matthew Noel, Joshua Miller, Andrew Noel, Cameron Noel, Taylor Phillips, Cody Potwin, Hannah Lepage and Austin Potwin; two sisters, Susan Coulter-Hoag of Panama City, Fla., and Laurie Paradis of Farmington; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Jacobsen and his sister, Karen Mitchell.
services: Friends and family will gather to pay their respects at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. His funeral will be held in the funeral chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial at Water Village Cemetery, Ossipee, is still being planned.
