Mary Bardon

MANCHESTER -- Mary (Soteriou) Bardon 89, died on Feb. 15, 2011, at the Ridgewood Healthcare Center in Bedford after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Manchester on Aug. 14, 1921, the daughter of Costos and Efrosene (Tsintzas) Soteriou. She was raised in Manchester and was educated in the Manchester school system.

When she was 21, she moved to Detroit, Mich., where she met and married Arthur Bardon. She was employed as a spot welder for the Budd Corporation, with 32 years of service. She returned to Manchester in 1985.

Family members include her godchild, Kathleen Noble of Florida; two nephews, Bill Soterion of Florida and Phil Koufos of Michigan; three nieces, Carol Llewellyn of Wolfboro, Mary Ann Sanopoulos of Manchester, and Priscilla Orosco of Michigan; numerous cousins.

SERVICES: Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech Street. The Trisagion service will be celebrated at 6 p.m. by the Rev Andrew Mahaleras.

A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday in St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral 650 Hanover St. Manchester.

Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
