ANDOVER, Mass. - Richard W. Sylvester Jr. , 48, of Andover, died at his home Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013.
Rich was born in Woburn. He grew up in Bedford, N.H., and graduated from Manchester West High School with the Class of 1982. He then went on to co-found NER Construction Management with his father. Their father/son business became the industry leader in masonry restoration in New England. The company went on to win numerous prestigious awards, and helped restore many major landmarks in the city of Boston, including Trinity Church, Boston Public Library and the Massachusetts State House.
Rich had a zest for life and enjoyed being outdoors at his home in Vermont. He spent his free time snowmobiling, race car driving and jet skiing.
Rich had many close friends and family, who loved his infectious smile and charismatic personality. Richard was predeceased by his father, Richard W. Sylvester Sr., formerly of Rye Beach, N.H. He is survived by his mother, Denise (Walsh) Sylvester of Rye Beach, N.H.; his sister, Tina Sylvester of Rye Beach, N.H.; his children, Nicholas, Carina and Jackson, all of Andover; nieces Samantha, Jenna, Sara, Laura and Charissa; and nephews Brian and Justin.
services: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visitation on Monday in the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Rye Central Cemetery, Central Road, Rye Beach, N.H. Following the burial, the family invites attendees to a luncheon at the Abenaque Country Club.
