Ronald D. Rye

MANCHESTER - Ronald D. Rye, 71, of Manchester, died Jan. 21, 2013, at a local healthcare facility, after a period of declining health.

Born in Cincinnati on April 2, 1941, he was the son of Glenn and Mary Ann (Cliff) Rye. He resided in the greater Manchester area for several years.

During the Vietnam War, he served with the U.S. Army.

Until his retirement, he worked in the construction industry for many years.

Family members include two daughters, Jennifer Barnard and her husband, Douglas, of Candia, and Jodi Carmody and her husband, Adam, of Manchester; six grandchildren, Hannah, Stephan, Michael, Jillyan, Emme, and Jack; a sister, Ann Sharpshair of Florida; and his former wife and friend, Susan L. (Goodwin) Rye.

services: Following cremation, a committal service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of N.H. State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. Urn burial with military honors will follow.
