CLERMONT, Fla. - Ronald Leon Holmes, 54, of Fremont and Barrington, N.H., and most recently, Clermont, passed away at Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, on his birthday, Nov. 12, 2012, after a courageous, 5 -year battle with colon cancer.
Born in Exeter, N.H., Nov. 12, 1958, Ron went through the Fremont, N.H., school system and graduated from Sanborn High School, Class of 1976. He served five years active duty with the U.S. Air Force and earned an associate of science degree in computer science from N.H. Community College.
Ron loved spending time with his friends, music, golf, working on cars and fixing computers. He was an avid sports fan, especially of auto racing.
He was the son of Guerwood Holmes of Fremont, N.H., and Sandra (Fortier) Spurr of Wolfeboro, N.H. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Diane (Venezia) Holmes of Cler-mont; his two sons, Ronald Holmes of Hawkins, Wis., and Robert Holmes of Oil City, Pa.; his brother, Bruce Holmes of Danville, N.H.; and stepmother, Mary-Jo Holmes of Fremont, N.H. In addition, he also leaves three stepsisters, a stepbrother, and five stepchildren, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
services: A full military honors ceremony was held at his resting place in Bushnell, Fla., at the U.S. Florida National Cemetery.
