Winifred L. Bernard

EXETER - Winifred L. "Fritzi" Bernard, 81, died Nov. 8, 2012, at the Concord Regional VNA Hospice House in Concord.

She was born March 20, 1931, in Williamsport, Pa., the daughter of the late Frederick and Marion (Kline) Cornelius, and grew up in North Amherst, Mass.

Fritzi was a resident of Exeter since 2000 and also lived in Portsmouth, Tuftonboro and Bedford. She was employed for many years as an office supply sales consultant and was formerly supervisor of the checklist for the Town of Exeter. She also worked in the Exeter area as a nail technician. Fritzi was an active member of the N.H. League of Women Voters and served as treasurer for her residential condo association. She loved playing card games, especially bridge, and also enjoyed cooking, sewing, jazz music, dancing and traveling with her longtime companion, Roger Hamson of Lynnfield, Mass.

She was predeceased by her son, Jess Lauder; and is survived by three daughters, Mimi and her husband, Steve Labore, of Goffstown, Didi Lauder and Keith Pollock of Goffstown, and Jeni Lauder of Warner; her daughter-in-law, Jaye Lauder of Conway; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
