SUTTON - Alexander David McKinnon, 79, of Corporation Hill Road, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at the New London Hospital.

He was born in Whitefield on Nov. 21, 1933, the son of John and Olive (Levasseur) McKinnon. Alex came to Sutton shortly after his birth to live with Harry and Eva Chadwick. He worked for the State of New Hampshire for 34 years, and several years for the transfer station in Sutton.

Alex was a forward observer in the U.S. Army, 25th Division, in the Korean War. He was a member of the Wilkins-Cloues-Bigelow-Pearson Post 39, American Legion, of Warner. He loved to travel the U.S. and Canada with his wife and pets.

Members of his family surviving include his wife of 57 years, Gloria (Huckins) McKinnon of Sutton; three children, Dale McKinnon of Sutton, Alex McKinnon of Arizona and April Fredholm of Kentucky; brothers in Massachusetts; sisters-in-law, Sandra True of Litchfield and Marral Hudson of Tennessee.
