HOOKSETT - Alexander "Sandy" Stewart, 87, of Hooksett, passed away on June 26, 2013, at Hackett Hill Health Care Center.

Mr. Stewart was born June 6, 1926, in Aberdeen, Scotland, a son of Alexander and Isabella (Buchan) Stewart and emigrated to America in 1957, settling in Massachusetts. He moved to Hooksett in 1990.
In his youth, Mr. Stewart served in the British Army Royal Artillery.
Prior to retirement, he was employed with Benjamin Moore Paint Company for 30 years.
Mr. Stewart was a life member of The Masonic Lodge, St. John, Bucksburn 795 as well as the Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, Valley of Nashua. He was also an active member of the Hooksett-ites and Elliot Associates.
Family includes his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth (Yule) Stewart of Hooksett; son, David Stewart and daughter-in-law, Debi Stewart; grandson, Matthew Stewart; granddaughter, Jennifer Shaw and her husband Glenn Shaw; great-grandsons, Jesse Shaw and Kyle Shaw, all of Auburn; as well as many family members in Scotland.
services: In honor of Mr. Stewart, all are welcome to a gathering of family and friends to take place on Monday, July 8, at 11 a.m. at the Backroom Restaurant Conference Center, Suite A, in Manchester.
