BEDFORD - Ann Betley Armstrong died Nov. 28, 2013, at the Ridgewood Center in Bedford.

Mrs Armstrong was born in Manchester, the daughter of Ignacy and Maryanna (Dulak) Betley. She attended local schools and earned her master's degree from Boston University. She was among the first women to graduate with a master's degree from Boston University.
She worked as a teacher in the Springfield High School, Springfield, Vt., where she was the head of the commercial department.
Ann always said that "Once you have your education, it's forever. Nobody can ever take it away from you. Learn all that you can and keep learning your entire life."
She will be remembered by her family with love and gratitude for her strength, faith and unfailing generosity.
Her husband of many years, Clarence Armstrong predeceased her.
Members of her family include two sisters: Emlen Betley Cote of Bedford, Jane Betley Shea of Westwood, Mass., several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church, corner of Beech and Orange Streets. Everyone is asked to meet at the church. Burial will follow in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Bedford.
