EPPING - Bertha S. Denoncour, 92, died on Jan. 27, 2013, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood.

She was born on April 25, 1920, in Gloucester, Mass., daughter of the late Miguel A. and Maria (Pires) Silveira.
She was a longtime resident of Epping, having moved there when she was only 6 years of age. She was a devoted communicant of St. Joseph Church in Epping.
Bertha worked faithfully and tirelessly raising her six children. She was so kind and generous to anyone who was blessed to be a family member or a friend. Bertha was a talented doll maker and was known for her amazing replications of the Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls. She was also known for her piccalilli.
Bertha was a member of the Rockingham County Crafts Association for many years. She was the current Boston Post Cane Holder, awarded to her in 2011, for being the oldest resident of Epping.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband, Norman Denoncour; her son, Norman Denoncour Jr.; three brothers, Joseph Silveira, Michael Silveira, Herculano "Clun" Silveira; and one sister, Theophila Emerson.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia M. Walsh of Hopkinton, Connie A. Thibeault of Newburyport, Mass.; three sons, Jeffrey Denoncour of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass., Joseph Denoncour of Epping, Gregory Denoncour of Georgetown, Mass.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Fecteau of Epping, and many nieces and nephews.
services: Calling hours will be on Thursday, Jan. 31, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 200 Pleasant St., Epping. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Epping in the spring.
