DERRY - Cornelius Van Laarhoven, 85, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at Parkland Medical Center. The son of Maurice and Mary (Weydt) Van Laarhoven, he was born in Stoughton, Mass., on May 13, 1927.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Susie (Locke) Van Laarhoven and their six children, Brenda (West) Goodnow, Robert Van Laarhoven, Gary and wife Holly Van Laarhoven, Linda (Van Laarhoven) and husband Ted Bice, Marty and wife Debbie Van Laarhoven, Sharon (Van Laarhoven) Stanley; close family friend Bonnie; as well as 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
Cornelius had started in Derry as a poultry farmer and soon started C. Van Laarhoven Rubbish Removal which served Derry for approximately 40 years. Fishing and golf were his passion, along with spending much of his time with family.
services: A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 12, at the Peabody funeral homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry.
