ASHLAND/PLYMOUTH - David Arthur Greene, 62, recently of Bow, passed away Dec. 9, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua after a lengthy illness.

Born in Manchester on July 15, 1950, he was the son of Raymond and Rebecca (Haynes) Greene. He was raised in the Hooksett and Farmington areas before moving to Ashland with his family in 1965. He graduated from the Ashland High School. David furthered his education at the Concord Vocational Technical School, where he trained and became a certified automotive mechanic.
David worked for many years at his father's Mobil station in Ashland. He also drove log trucks and trucks for several area construction companies throughout his driving career.
David built and drove his own race cars. He raced on the dirt track in Loudon and race tracks in Rumney and Canaan.
He lived in the Ashland-Plymouth area most of his life before moving to Bow to live with his son and daughter-in-law.
David was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Rebecca Greene, and his daughter-in-law, Helen (Ellie) Greene.
He is survived by his son, Jason Greene of Bow; two daughters, Heidi Gallicchio and husband, Chris of Plymouth and Heather Stewart of Andover; twin sister Diann Greene of Laconia; two sisters, Debora Miller and husband, Dennis of Sugar Land, Texas and Jo Ann Paul and husband, Jack of Holderness; brother, Steven Greene and wife, Jane of Enfield and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at the Hooksett Congregational Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Emily Geoghegan, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests that in David's memory one should visit a friend, loved one or shut-in.
