BRISTOL - Donald A. Richardson, 78, of Bristol, died on Nov. 12, 2012, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

He was the son of Albert E. and Virginia J. (Holmes) Richardson. He was born Aug. 16, 1934, in Dorchester, Mass., moving to Squantum, Mass., as a child and later to Scituate, Mass., and retiring to Bristol in 1999. He served in the U.S. Army in the 2nd Armored Rifle Battalion in Texas and Germany. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years, primarily as a letter carrier in Wollaston, Mass.
He enjoyed playing the organ, spending time outdoors and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Constance J. (Gunn) Richardson, and his daughters, Joanne V. (Richardson) Davis and Donna L. (Richardson) Powers. Also by his four grandchildren, Ryan Davis, Alair Powers, Jake Davis and Josie Powers.
A celebration of his life will be planned at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Plymouth Regional Senior Center, 8 Depot St. Plymouth, 03264.
