PEMBROKE - Donald P. Couturier, 66, of Pembroke, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, following a courageous battle against cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Donald was born in Nashua on July 19, 1946. He was the son of Albert and Lucille (Lancourt) Couturier. Donald spent many years working at Derry Shoe and worked for Dick Leblanc at Leblanc's Getty for more than 10 years. He also spent several years employed at Great State Beverage. Donald was a former member of the American Legion Sweeney Post and the Deerhead Club. He was an avid fan of the Patriots and Red Sox and enjoyed traveling later in life. Donald was a loving pepe and will be tenderly remembered as a loving "complainer."

Donald is survived by his mother, Lucille (Lancourt) Couturier; three sons, Darren Couturier of Manchester, Eddie Nadeau and his wife, Dorothy, of Pembroke, and Danny Nadeau of Pittsfield; grandchildren Deven, Trever, Dominique, Kelsi, Kaela and Jatiela Nadeau, all of New Hampshire, and Amaya Couturier of New York; brothers Maurice and his wife, Debbie, of Manchester, Ron and his wife, MacKenzie, of Portsmouth, Bill and his wife, Pat, of Manchester, and Mike and his wife, Lynn, of North Carolina; sisters Jeanne Oleniak of Merrimack and Shirley Couturier of Manchester; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his wife of over 30 years, Helen (Wojtowic); his father, Albert; and his brothers, Bobby and Roger.


services: An hour of gathering will be held Tuesday, March 19, 10 to 11 a.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester. A memorial service will follow immediately at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donald's memory may be made to Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association, The Slusser Center, 30 Pillsbury St., Concord, 03301.
