FRANKLIN - Estelle Laberge Benard, 96, formerly of Manchester, died March 20, 2012, at Mountain Ridge Nursing Home in Franklin.

Mrs. Benard was born Sept. 8, 1915, in Manchester, the daughter of Joseph and Emelia (Michaud) Laberge. She attended local schools and graduated from Manchester West High School in 1934.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for ACA for many years. She was active with ACA, the West Side Center (now the William B. Cashin Center), was a former member of the Hooksett Grange and former member and secretary of AARP.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bertrand Benard, on Oct. 22, 2004.
Members of her family include four sons, Raymond A. Benard of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., Norman A. Benard of Hingham, Mass., William P. Benard of Tilton, Charles A. Benard of Hillsborough; two daughters, Amelia Houtchens and Mrs. Andrew (Dolores) Kjera, both of Fairbanks, Alaska; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.
services:There are no calling hours. The funeral liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelley Street, Manchester. Everyone is asked to meet at the church. The family will greet friends at the church at 9:30 a.m., prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
