WEARE -- Evelyn M. Reade, 85, died Oct. 22, 2009, after a long illness.
She was born in Brookline, but had been a lifelong resident of Weare.
As a graduate of Moore General in Nursing, she was well-known in the community for her loving care and compassion she gave to others.
She often would administer medical treatment from her home to anyone in need.
Throughout her career, her passion and dedication extended to Concord Hospital, Visiting Nurses Association, Odd Fellows Home and Hillsboro House Nursing Home. She also held the position of health officer for the town of Weare for many years.
Family members include her husband of 58 years, Albert L. Reade; two children, Sherry Reade-McKenzie and Sandra Reade; a brother, Richard Perkins; three grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: A graveside ceremony will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Reade's private cemetery at 166 Shady Hill Road in Weare. The public is welcome.
Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's Center, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon.
French and Rising Funeral Home, 17 South Mast St., is in charge of arrangements.
