MANCHESTER - Francis J. Cote Sr., 94, of Manchester died June 13, 2013, at Courville at Manchester.

He was born on Feb. 13, 1919, in Manchester, the son of Alfred and Blanche (Marcoux) Cote.

Mr. Cote served in the U.S. Army during World War II, retiring as a major from the 2nd Howitzer Battalion, 172nd Artillery, N.H. National Guard.

He worked for Sprague Electric, Harvey and Caron Construction and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Family members include his wife of 70 years, Corinne (Bois) Cote of Manchester; two sons, Francis J. Cote Jr. of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Thomas J. Cote of Mirror Lake; daughter, Marguerite (Cote) Murphy of Bedford; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond G. Cote of Bedford; sister, Adoree Ainsworth O'Donnell of Manchester, half-sister Suzanne Brown of Minneapolis, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his son, Richard P. Cote.

services: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Tuesday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Road, Bedford. Interment will be at the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, Wednesday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Cote's name can be made to Honor Flight Inc., Attn.: Diane Gresse, 300 E.
