MANCHESTER - Helen Durfey, 81, of Manchester, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2012, at her home. She was born in Waltham, Mass., on May 17, 1931, the daughter of the late Ralph and Gladys (Cutler) Smith.

Helen was a social butterfly with numerous groups of friends and contacts whom she loved to make laugh. She loved to crochet doilies, play bingo, sing karaoke and play the many instruments she had become skilled at. Helen was a member of the American Legion and the Winona Club. She is remembered by her loved ones as spunky, strong-willed, and a woman who lived life to the fullest.
Helen is survived by her five nieces and nephews; Eugene Smith of Epsom, Larry Flynn and his wife Lois, of Revere, Mass., Patsy and her husband Joe Kuklak, of Fort Fairfield, Maine, Anne and her husband Dan Nadeau, of Stewartstown, and Sharon and her husband Don Arsoneaut. Helen is also survived by her four great-nieces; Tammy, Holly, Felicia and April.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, John Durfey; her sister, Rachel Mae; and her brother, Roy Smith. She was also predeceased by two nephews; Edward Flynn III and Fred Fuller.
