WOLFEBORO -- Herbert K. Brasseur, 82, died May 28, 2009, at his home in Sugarhill.
He was born in Haverhill, Mass., graduated from high school there and enlisted in the Army before World War II.
After serving in the Philippines, he re-enlisted in the Air Force and was sent to Biggs Field in El Paso, Texas.
He married Evelyn White, had two children, attended the University of Texas at El Paso and moved to Alaska, where he worked for the U. S. Government as a civil engineer.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also worked as a private detective and spent time as a ham-radio operator.
He entertained many people with his Alaskan adventures.
He moved to Wolfeboro in 1987 and lived in Tuftonboro for 20 years.
Family includes his wife, Evelyn; daughter, Barbara; son, David; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
SERVICES: The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Wolfeboro is handling arrangements.
