MANCHESTER - John H. Condon, 92, of Manchester, beloved husband of Dorothy "Dotty" (Bose-Kmon) Condon, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Elliot Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born in Somerville, Mass., John is the son of the late John and Sarah (Sudbury) Condon. Raised and educated in Somerville, he was a graduate of Somerville High School, class of 1937. John matriculated to Capital Radio Engineering Institute, where he graduated as an electronic technician.

A U.S. Navy veteran, John proudly served his country in the Pacific during World War II.

Successful in his career, John was self-employed as an electronic technician for 40 years. Following his retirement, he was employed by the Manchester Airport Authority for many years.

A grateful and longtime member of the Fellowship of AA and Friends of Bill W., John was a dedicated member for 42 years. He volunteered his time mentoring young people struggling with alcohol addiction.

John will be remembered as a proud father, wonderfully loving husband, and a kind friend to all. John and Dotty had a beautifully successful marriage and a happy life together. John was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He had a voracious appetite for books and knowledge, always knowing at least a little bit about everything. John enjoyed traveling around New England, especially to the seacoast and mountains. His travels were pure adventure because of his insatiable curiosity. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, he will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.

In addition to his loving wife of 23 years, John is survived by his daughter, Denise Foster and her husband Peter Amons, of Warner; two sons, Michael Condon of Waltham, Mass., and John Condon and his wife Elizabeth, of Stowe, Vt.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Louise Condon of Massachusetts, several nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. John was predeceased by his first wife, Aurore Lambert; two daughters, Eileen Condon and Marie Rafferty; brother, Tom Condon; and sister, Regina Burns.
