HAMPTON - Linda R. Fortier, 66, of Hampton, formerly of Milford, died peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at her home surrounded by family.

She was born Aug. 3, 1946, in Greenville, Tenn., daughter of the late Thomas H. and Ruth M. (McMillian) Foreman.
Linda and Norman Fortier began their married life in 1970 and then opened award winning Le Gourmet Restaurant in Milford. In 1976, they opened Elisha's in Milford where they bonded with the community for 27 years. In 1995 they ventured to the seacoast in Hampton where they opened The Beach House Restaurant. With Linda's passion for cooking and love of life, she made the consummate hostess. Throughout the years, Linda embraced her family and friends with many lasting memories and satisfied appetites. Her famous last words, "How's the food?" She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Norman Fortier of Hampton; daughters, Brenda Speirs and husband Lyle of Bend, Oregon; Nichole Willcox and husband Peter, Jr. of Hampton; Jennifer Fortier of Raymond; Christiane Matey and husband Scott of Waltham, Mass.; brothers, Thomas Foreman, Wayne Foreman, Robert Foreman; sisters, Joyce Camper, Judy Carlin, Marilyn Carlin, Carolyn Patterson, Gail Mikesina; eight grandchildren with the ninth on the way and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, David Foreman and sister, Janice Foreman.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private.
