MANCHESTER -- Marjorie M. Van Uden, 97, died Jan. 31, 2010, at Villa Crest following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester, Jan. 9, 1913, to Thomas R. and Addie (Bolser) Stewart and had resided in Manchester all of her life.
Prior to her retirement she was employed as the office manager of Car-Go Inc. She had previously been employed at Carmen's, the optometry office of Dr. Blanchard and as a floor lady at the 7-20-4 cigar factory.
She was a communicant of St. Pius X parish. She was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
She and her late husband, Anton Van Uden, traveled extensively and had spent many winters in Florida. He died in November 2004.
IN HER LIFE: She is survived by her son, Donald Van Uden of Dover; a beloved daughter-in-law, Barbara Van Uden of Laconia; a granddaughter, Kristi Denning and her husband, Thomas, of Dover; a grandson, Erik Van Uden of Laconia; two great grandchildren, Taryn Denning and Payton Denning; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Howard L. Stewart, Carl W. Stewart, Robert Stewart, John F. Stewart and Kenneth Stewart; and a sister, Gladys Tupai.
Special appreciation and thanks is given to three friends, Dee McDaniel, Jan Connelly and Bea Valvane.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in McHugh Funeral Home, 483 Beech St., corner of Hanover Street, Manchester. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
Memorial donations may be made to The Caregivers Inc., 19 Harvey Road, Bedford 03110.
