MILFORD - Patti Lee Horne, 71, of Milford, died peacefully on March 4, 2014, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack. She was born Aug. 4, 1942, in Laconia, the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Wornick.

Patti graduated from Laconia High School and then attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., where she earned her business degree.

Patti is predeceased by her first husband, Jerome Zirn, of New Ipswich. They had two children Andrew and Augusta. She then married Stuart Horne of Milford, who predeceased her in 2003.

After college, Patti began her career selflessly serving her community. She worked for 19 years as the Director of Welfare for the Town of Milford, also serving a term as the President of New Hampshire Welfare. She was an active member of the Milford Garden Club for many years supporting her love of gardening and received numerous awards for her talent in floral arrangements. Patti also served on the board of the Milford Community Athletic Association.

Patti was a fun-loving free-spirit. She was a wonderful mother and loyal friend. Her sense of humor was a gift to all who knew her. Patti enjoyed reading and cooking, and especially helping others. Her happiest days were spent sitting on her back porch with her loyal dog Dash, watching her grandchildren play in the backyard. She will be missed dearly.

Patti is survived by her two children, son Andrew Zirn, and his wife, Tania, of Chester, and daughter Augusta (Zirn) Stillwagon, and her husband Matthew, of Milford; a brother, Douglas Wornick of Lecanto, Fla.; and three step-daughters, Cynthia Willey of Oak Grove, Oregon, Sharon LaPointe of Oak Grove, Oregon, and Pamela Robinson of Wilsonville, Oregon. She was the beloved grandmother of Dominic and Kyle Zirn, Abigail and Stephanie Stillwagon, Casey and Jacob LaPointe, Ben and Laura Willey, and Rachael, Jesse, Rebecca, and Brandon Robinson; and several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
