MANCHESTER - Paul F. Sullivan, 83, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Manchester, died July 23, 2013, at the Elliot Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Boston, Mass., on May 15, 1930, the son of John J. and Katherine (Mahoney) Sullivan. He grew up in Dorchester, Mass., and attended the High School of Commerce and Burdett Business School. In 1954, he married his wife of 60 years, Constance (Kirwan), and together they raised seven children, moving his family to New Hampshire in 1967.

Paul ("Grandpa") was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be very sorely missed. Every day began with laughter and a smile and his happiest times were spent with his children and grandchildren in the backyard of the family home. He also loved to golf, bowl and ballroom dance with his "bride." Their friends referred to them as "Fred and Ginger." Most often he could be found in the kitchen with a cup of coffee and a bowl of potato chips watching an old black and white movie.

He worked for General Electric in major appliances for many years. Additionally, he was a member of Intervale Country Club for 37 years and Cypress Lakes in Lakeland, Fla. for 17 years.

He is survived by his dear wife, Connie; three sons, Paul (Monica) Sullivan of Newton, Mass., Tom (Annmarie) Sullivan and John (Charlene) Sullivan both of Manchester; four daughters, Diane (Bruce) Leonard of Ashland, Phyllis Stewart of Derry, Joanne (Tony) Petrello of Manchester and Connie Sullivan of Lakeland, Fla.; 11 grandchildren: Shannon Sullivan, Dan Sullivan, Jack Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan, Brian Sullivan, Krysten Apostoles, Kara Apostoles, Joanna Apostoles, Jillian Stewart, Lauren Petrello and Kate Petrello; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Dolly Kelly; as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by four siblings and an infant daughter, Kathleen.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A celebration of his life will take place on Friday, July 26 at noon at Intervale Country Club in Manchester. Messages of condolences may be sent to Paul's family c/o Connie Sullivan, 9441 Big Apple Lane, Lakeland, Fla., 33810.
