MANCHESTER - Phyllis E. Eager, Manchester, passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2012. She was born in Auburn on Dec. 15, 1931, the daughter of Roy W. and Norma (Fisher) Davis.

She graduated from Manchester Central High School and went on to attend UNH and the New Hampshire School of Accounting. Phyllis was joined in marriage with Clifford L. Eager on Oct. 24, 1953. She was very active at Brookside Congregational Church, where she taught nursery school, played the carillon church bells, ran the church thrift shop and was a member of the women's fellowship. Phyllis was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi, Epsilon Master Chapter for 57 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Cliff; three children, Gary Eager of Manchester, Heidi Shelby of Auburn, and Holly Vance of Reno, Nev.; eight grandchildren, Chris, Charlie, Joe, Travis, Samantha, Kelsey, Paden and Danny; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Robinson Davis of Phoenix. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Davis.
services: Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 30, in Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St., Manchester. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 31, in Brookside Congregational Church, 2013 Elm St., Manchester. A spring burial will be held in Auburn Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brookside Congregational Church for the carillon tower bell system.
