Born Nov. 16, 1953, he had been a resident of Dunbarton for the past 26 years, previously living in Millis, Mass. He was the son of the late Kenneth Johnson and Evelyn (Oberg) Mitrano. He faced his cancer diagnosis with optimism, determination and courage and was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He was a well-loved man and will be sorely missed by his family.
Mr. Johnson had been employed as a commercial loan officer/VP with TD Bank. Richard enjoyed being outdoors, spending time gardening and landscaping. He was a talented painter and weather buff; however, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of St. Lawrence Church and Kiwanis Club of Keene.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joanne Johnson of Dunbarton; two children, Geoff Johnson of Goffstown and Melanie Johnson of Dunbarton; and two siblings, Allan Johnson of Maine, N.Y., and Karen Casey of Franklin, Mass.; along with several nieces and nephews.
