WINDHAM - Susanne S. Kling, 72, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Susanne was born in Tupper Lake, N.Y., on April 9, 1940, a daughter of Edna (Hough) Lopez and the late Leon J. Smith. She had resided in Windham since 1977, formerly living in Colchester, Vt., and Albany, N.Y. She was a communicant of St. Matthew Church in Windham, where she was very active. Susanne was also active in the Secular Franciscan Order in Derry.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, David A. Kling of Windham; seven children, Andrew Kling of Salem, Mass., Scott Kling of Merrimack, Eric Kling of Burlington, Vt., Colleen Goulding of Derry, Douglas Kling of Windham, Nicole Kneeland of Derry and Jonathan Kling of Denver.; also 15 grandchildren; her mother, Edna Lopez of Hudson; her sister, Saundra Lopez of San Diego; and several nieces and nephews.


services: Calling hours will be held Monday, Aug. 6, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, Searles Road, Windham. Following cremation, private burial will be at Cemetery on the Plain, Windham.
