EXETER - Thomas E. Prout, 66, of Exeter, passed away suddenly on Jan. 5, 2013, at Exeter Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Linda (Parsons) Prout.

Born in Lynn, Mass., Tom was the son of the late Charles E. and Florence (Englehardt) Prout. He was raised in Saugus, Mass., and had been a resident of New Hampshire for the past seven years, previously residing in Salem.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for over 40 years as a production clerk at General Electric. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and looked forward to his annual "men in Maine" vacation, spending time in the outdoors and just being with his buddies.
Tom had many friends and his infectious personality impacted all of them. He will be sorely missed by all.
In addition to his wife, Tom leaves his children, Shannon Bailey of Salem and Kenneth Bruns of Danvers, Mass. He also leaves his brother, Richard Prout and his wife, C. Bonnie of Amesbury, Mass.; his sister, Lorraine Brockgreiten and her husband, Bernie of Hingham, Mass., as well as many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m., in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, Mass.
Tom's funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Interment will be private.
