RUTHERFORDTON , N.C. - Wallace A. "Curlie" Daigneau, Jr., 74, of Rutherfordton, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

Wallace was born May 15, 1938, in Franklin, N.H., to the late Wallace Andrew Daigneau Sr. and Marie Twombly Daigneau. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Elks where he served as an Exalted Ruler. He worked as a truck driver and trucking supervisor for Watts Regulator for many years. He loved woodworking and was an innovator when it came to repairing or building almost anything. He also enjoyed restoring old cars and antique furniture. He was a man with a giving heart and used his skills to bless many. He volunteered his time at the Yokefellow Workshop. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and a friend to many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James A. Daigneau, and one sister, Helen Paquette.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Alberta L. Daigneau; one daughter, Patricia Alexander and husband, Johnny, of Harris; one son, Wallace A. Daigneau IV and wife, Leslie, of Moultonborough, N.H.; one sister, Janice Matthewson of Dover, N.H.; four granddaughters, Allison Walsh, Shenna Alexander, Desiree Howell, LeAnne Daigneau; two grandsons, James Daigneau and Derek Daigneau; and three great-granddaughters, Mally Greene, Emily Stamper, Ava-Claire Howell. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Marion Grout and Virginia Cantara, both of New Hampshire; one brother-in-law, Anson E. Libby and several nieces and nephews.
services: A private ceremony will be held at the funeral home.
