William Lekebusch Obituary

ORANGE, Va. - William F. Lekebusch died suddenly June 27, 2014, in Charlottesville.

Born on Oct. 21, 1947, in Manchester, N.H., he was the son of Elisabeth (Betty) and Adolf Lekebusch, and a member of the West High School class of 1965. He earned a bachelor's degree in History from Keene State College in 1972, where he was a member of the TKE fraternity.

In the 1970s he was a sales professional with NH Supply Co., with statewide responsibilities. His last employment was as the purchasing manager for an aerospace composites manufacturer near Brandy Station, Va.

Bill will be remembered as an avid Colts fan, golfer and Civil War history buff who delighted in residing in an historic Orange, Va., home that had been a Confederate hospital once visited by General Robert E. Lee. As a young man he enjoyed hiking in the White Mountains particularly Mt. Washington. He also loved using his woodworking skills to restore furniture.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Heather Lekebusch of Culpeper, Va.; his brothers, Dolf of Ellicott City, Md. and Ron of Gilford, N.H.; and several nieces and a nephew. Plans for a memorial service to be held in New Hampshire will be announced at a later date.

We remember Bill with great fondness. He had a sharp wit and a lighthearted sense of humor. We shared a lot of laughs and many good times with him in our younger days. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

I loved Bill as a friend. He was one of the most personable persons I ever knew. He always had a smile for you and he had the most wonderful sense of humor. I am sad that he is gone from us.

Leke, We had some times that are better off left to memory. Chances are nobody would believe half of them anyway. I wish you were closer over these past years. We could have spent our time keeping each other in a positive frame of mind. We certainly would have had some laughs. You were a great friend, and I will miss you. God bless………..Scrubby
