FREEDOM -- William L. Deyoe Sr., 79, of Watson Hill Road, died Jan. 22, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 3, 1930 in Medford, Mass., and grew up in Somerville, Mass., summering in Freedom.
He was the son of the late Ralph and Idella (Conner) Deyoe, of Somerville, Mass. He was a 1949 graduate of Hebron Academy.
He lived in Melrose, Mass., from 1957 to 1992 when he and his wife retired to their home in Freedom. He graduated in 1951 from Boston University, earning his associate's in arts degree, and his bachelor of science degree in public relations in 1954.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He worked for the Raytheon Corporation for 18 years as a purchasing manager.
He was a 50-year member of the King Solomon Masonic Lodge in Somerville, Mass.; past patron (1957-58) of the Friendship Chapter Order of Eastern Star No. 58, Amesbury, Mass., member of the American Legion Post No 19, a past president of the Freedom Club of Boston, past Dad advisor for the Melrose Chapter, Order of DeMolay. He also served as Scoutmaster of the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church Troop No. 603 and was Little League coach in Melrose for many years, as well as earning his second degree in Reiki. He was a member of the Freedom Cemetery Committee and First Christian Church of Freedom.
Family members include his wife of 57 years, June Deyoe of Freedom, and children, William Deyoe Jr. of Clinton, Mass.; Wayne Deyoe of Freedom; Mark Deyoe of Brockton, Mass.; and Susan Deyoe of Chocorua; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be 2-4 p.m. Wednesday,followed by the funeral service at Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Freedom, in the spring.
Memorial donations may be made to VNA & Hospice of Northern Carroll County, P.O. Box 432, North Conway, 03860.

I am very sad to hear of Bill's passing and send my condolences to all your family.
June, I met you several years ago when Beverly and I visited with you and Bill to work on our family genealogy. We sat on your porch in Freedom and shared lots of info and stayed in touch for a few years.
