MANCHESTER -Stephen Loukedes, 79, of Manchester, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 14, 2014, at the Elliot Hospital. Stephen was born in Manchester on Oct. 21, 1934, to the late Panos and Ariadne (Demitriades) Loukedes.

Stephen worked as an engineer at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 30 years until his retirement in 1990. He loved gardening and being outdoors, especially at the ocean where he loved to spend time with his family. He spent his free moments working with his tools performing home improvements or working on other projects of his own.
Members of the family include his wife of 49 years Irene (Venetos) Loukedes; his children, Maria Millios and her husband Spiro, Peter Loukedes, and Audrey Tsai and her husband, Wenkai, all of Manchester; six grandchildren, Nickolas, Stephanie, George, Luke, Alek and Irene. Members of the family also include his nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Evangelos Loukedes.
SERVICES: The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 1160 Bridge St., Manchester.
Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Services are in the care of the Cain & Janosz Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 74 Brook St, corner of Pine St., Manchester, NH.
