GOFFSTOWN - John J. Ranfos, Jr., 80, passed away Feb. 13, 2014, at Catholic Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Manchester on June 3, 1933, the son of John and Alice (Fournier) Ranfos, Sr. John served in the U.S. Army for two years, stationed in Korea, until his honorable discharge in 1955.
John was joined in marriage with Irma G. Ring on Dec. 24, 1955. He was a sales representative with Ring & Cavanaugh for many years, and worked for the New Hampshire Institute of Art as a security guard, retiring in 2010.
John enjoyed landscaping at the family home, and loved spending time with his family, particularly the grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Irma; two sons, Steve Ranfos and wife, Marie, and Jay Ranfos and wife, Ginette; four grandchildren, Lindsay Ranfos and partner, Nate Bergeron, Craig Ranfos and partner, Beth Russell, Christopher Ranfos and his wife, Melissa, and Geoffrey Ranfos and partner Duncan Phillips; five siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six siblings.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 17, in Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St., Manchester. An additional calling hour will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., also in Goodwin Funeral Home. A private burial will take place in N.H.
