Joel was born on April 19, 1951, in Dorchester, Mass., the son of Jack Katz and Phyllis Levey. He grew up in Hull, Mass., and graduated from Hull High School. He was a commercial tractor-trailer driver with more than 40 years of experience. With his CDL class A license Joel was both an instructor and driver. He was a hard worker that found great joy in his livelihood.
Joel Katz was a big man with an even bigger heart. His unmatched personality, zest for life, and passion for people made him the extraordinary man he was. He loved music, food, conversation, and most of all his family. Joel was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. You could always count on Mr. Katz.
Joel leaves behind his loving wife Diana Adams, son Allan, daughter Jodi, and siblings Elliot Katz, Susan Field, Linda Holsapfel, and Bette Cigalotti.
