MANCHESTER - Genevieve M. "Jennie" St. Gelais, 89, died Feb. 14, 2014, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack following a brief illness.

She was born in Manchester on Jan. 17, 1925, the daughter of Delphis and Odiana (Gagnon) St. Gelais. She was educated in local schools and had been a lifelong resident of this city.

Prior to her retirement she had been employed as a first line supervisor for Sylvania.

She was an avid golfer and played until 2013 and was a longtime member of the Intervale County Club. She loved playing cards, bowling and was a skier in her younger years and a world traveler.

Members of her family include two brothers, Maurice M. St. Gelais of Manchester and Louis A. St. Gelais and his wife Cecile of Laconia; a sister-in-law Mary St. Gelais of Gilford and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by three brothers Florien, Marcel and Lionel St. Gelais.


SERVICES: Calling hours will be Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. in St. Hedwig Church, Beech Street. Committal prayers will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel.
