LEESBURG, Va. - Mary Klimek, formerly Mary Duffy, 81, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at Spring Arbor of Leesburg, Leesburg, Va.. Born in Manchester, N.H., Mary was the daughter of John and Mary Duffy. Formerly of Manchester, N.H., she lived in New Jersey for 56 years before moving to Leesburg, Virginia three years ago. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School for Girls and received her nursing degree from Moore General Hospital Nursing School in Grasmere, N.H. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the Jersey City Medical Center and then as a Public Health Nurse for Jersey City. After taking time off to raise her family, she returned to her career first as a head nurse at Irvington General Hospital, Irvington, N.J., and then as director of nursing at Beachview Skilled Nursing Home in Keansburg, N.J. She retired from Beachview in 1996 after a rewarding and successful nursing career.Mary was an active member of St. Catharine's Church in Holmdel, and she enjoyed many activities with friends and family, including her Monday night mah jong game and monthly luncheons. She traveled extensively with her family, spent many hours at Avon- by- the- Sea and frequented Broadway and museums in New York City. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and a beloved grandmother.She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Bill, and is survived by her her daughter, Susan Buckley and her husband Gene of Ashburn, Virginia; her son, Bill and his wife Christine of Middletown, N.J.; her daughter, Carolyn Zimmerman and her husband Richard of Glen Allen, Va.; and her loving grandchildren, Kelsey, Matthew, Jenna, Collin, Kathleen and Evan. She also is survived by her sister Patricia Warren of Raymond, N.H.; her brother, John Duffy of Manchester, N.H., and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Barret of Bedford, N.H.
