Manchester - Marie R. Plante, 96, of Manchester died March 4, 2014, at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Manchester on April 22, 1917, the daughter of Amedee and Sophie (Boucher) Huard and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. She was educated in the local school system.She was employed at MKF Manufacturing and was a member of St. Anne Sodality of St. Anthony Church, the 55 Club and was a former member of St. Pius X Church. Her true joy was caring for her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marie's zest for life and jovial personality was infectious. She brought out the best in others. Her often spoken saying, "Tra la la ...," brought a smile to all.Marie was predeceased by her first husband, Maurice Lapointe, in 1965; by her second husband, Donat Plante, in 1981; by her brother, Maurice Huard; and her sisters Yvonne Daudier and Antoinette Huard.Members of her family include her son, Joseph Roland Lapointe of Concord; her daughter, Diane Desmarais, and her husband, Roger, of Manchester; her four grandchildren, Nicole Lee and her husband, Christopher, of Merrimack, Kristen Desmarais of Peabody, Mass., Monique Lapointe of Franklin and Michelle Bernier and her husband, Kyle, of Penacook; her two great-grandchildren, Owen Bernier and Quinlan Bernier, also of Penacook; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins..

SERVICES: Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech Street, in Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 8, at 10 a.m. at the Parish of the Transfiguration, 107 Alsace St., Manchester.
