MANCHESTER - Irvin W. Tolles, 65, died unexpectedly March 14, 2014, in Bretton Woods, while doing something he loved, snowboarding.He was born on June 21, 1948, in Southington, Conn., the son of Louis Grant and Muriel Lucille (Cline) Tolles. He had lived in Manchester for the past 40 years.Irvin completed bachelor's degrees in economics and business administration at Hawthorne College. He was an entrepreneur and business owner of several businesses publishing or providing data. He owned and operated Real Data Corp., Tollcom, Virtual Publishing Corp., and Deltacost. He had previously built, owned and operated several hydroelectric power stations in New Hampshire. He remained involved with his siblings in the family-run nursing home started by his parents in Massachusetts.Irvin loved outdoor activities including, skiing, snowboarding, rowing, boating and kayaking. He also was an avid reader.Family members include his partner of 21 years, Nancy Smith of Manchester; brother, Brenton Tolles and two sisters, Carol Tolles and her husband David Singer and Jemma Tolles, all of Lakeville, Mass., Nancy's sister, Edwana Dean of Hidden Valley Lake, Calif., niece, Sarah Cheney and nephew Brenton Tolles Jr.
SERVICES: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Irvin's memory to New Horizons for New Hampshire 199 Manchester St., P.O.
