HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Athena Liapis Theodosopoulos, 86, of Hollywood and Manchester, N.H., passed peacefully at her home in Hollywood on March 17, 2014.

She was born on Feb. 6, 1928, in Goffstown, N.H., the daughter of the late Soterios and Katherine (Kotsis) Liapis. She was raised and educated in Manchester, graduating from Central High School. Athena earned her bachelor's degree in history from Notre Dame College in 1974, graduating summa cum laude.

After raising her family, Athena opened and operated Tina's Clothing Store in downtown Manchester, N.H.

Tina belonged to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral and was active in the Daughters of Penelope and was president of the Anagennesis in 1968. She belonged to the Tuesday workshop at the church, crocheting and knitting items sold at the Glendi and helped in the preparation of Greek food and volunteering at the Glendi.

Tina's many interests included Greek and ballroom dancing, Greek cooking, playing cards, including bridge; she enjoyed traveling worldwide, attended several Elderhostel programs and culinary classes and was a member of a choral group in her younger years. She was an avid reader and had a flair for writing. Tina enjoyed many of these activities with her beloved husband, Harry.

Family members include her beloved daughters, Andrea Theodosopoulos and her husband, Jerry Harper, of Manchester, N.H., and Melanie T. Perrachon and her husband, Robert, of North Carolina; two sons, Michael A. Theodosopoulos of Florida and Thomas H. Theodosopoulos and former wife Diane Monteith of Hooksett, N.H.; four grandchildren, Stefan Perrachon and his wife, Erika, of North Carolina, Justin Perrachon of North Carolina, Andriana Perrachon of Oregon and Jeffrey Theodosopoulos of Utah; great-grandson Soren Perrachon of North Carolina; siblings Aphrodite Francis, Jenny "Flo" Shaw and Betty Tullgren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Harry Theodosopoulos, on Feb. 23, 2004; brothers James Laipis, George Liapis; and her sisters, Marie Velimesis and Elizabeth Reamy.


services: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. with the Trisagion Service at 6 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 650 Hanover St. Manchester, on Monday at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester.
