MANCHESTER -Robert Stanley Lyscars, 81, died May 27, 2014. He was born in Manchester Jan. 8, 1933, the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Jamro) Lyscars.

Bob grew up in Bedford, and graduated from West High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In October 1956 he married Mary Bailey, and together they raised three children in Loudon and Manchester. They were married 53 years, until her death in 2010. Bob was an independent contractor throughout most of his career, owning and operating his own window and door installation company.

Known for his quick wit, sparkly blue eyes, and formidable cribbage hand, Bob was never happier than when he was piloting his family on his pontoon boat around Deering Lake or taking trips with Mary throughout New England and Ireland. Bob shared his love of horseshoes, fishing and nature with his family and friends.

Throughout his life he belonged to The American Legion's Sweeney Post, Alpine Club, NRA, Pointer's Fish and Game, and the N.H. Historical Society.

Mr. Lyscars is survived by three children, Alan Lyscars and former wife Margaret Cleveland, of Portland, Maine, Kristina Melley and husband Michael of West Hartford, Conn., and John Lyscars and wife Debra of Hooksett; seven grandchildren, Alexander and James Lyscars, Glennis, Caroline and Meaghan Melley, and Mark and Jackson Lyscars.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, in Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St., Manchester.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, 03303.
