BRADENTON, Fla. - Jon Fredrik Brusquini, 68, died peacefully in his sleep at Manatee Memorial Hospital on Sunday, June 1, 2014, after a period of failing health.

The son of Paul F. and Thalia A. Brusquini, he was born in Concord, N.H., on March 12, 1946. He grew up in Manchester, N.H., where he attended both Straw Elementary and Manchester Central High School. Jon joined the U.S. Navy as a Seabee. During his tour of duty in Vietnam, he served honorably with its Amphibious Construction Battalion Two.
Jon later settled in the Bradenton, Fla., area where he became a loyal friend to those who knew him, especially Brian Kelly, Sister Susan Pettis, and John Duncan. A master carpenter, he also loved fishing in the Gulf. He was an avid reader with a special interest in all phases of religion and religious philosophy.
Jon is survived by one sister Sandra True and her husband Robert (also Jon's devoted guardian) of Hampton, N.H.; a nephew Jon-Peter Smith and his wife Melissa of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; a nephew Gordon Smith and his wife Joan of Rochester, N.H.; and a niece Susan Lendrum and her husband Peter of Exeter, N.H. Also three great-nephews Harrison, Jonathan and Parker Lendrum, and a great-niece Zoey Smith of New York.
