HAMPTON - Virginia Marie Wadleigh, 85, of Hampton, died on June 26, 2014, at Exeter Hospital after a brief illness.She was born July 14, 1928, and raised in South Hampton, daughter of the late James and Nettie (McKinley) Hellen.A resident of Hampton for the last 14 years, she was a former longtime resident of Kensington, where she lived and raised her family on the Wadleigh Family Farm.A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she had many interests including bird watching, antiques, cooking and walks on the beach. A talented piano player, she loved music and enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband in their RV. She and her husband also made many trips to visit Nova Scotia, the place where her family came from. She also loved trips to the north country to view moose in their natural habitat.She was predeceased by her daughter, Pamela L. Wadleigh, in 1982 and is survived by her husband of 66 years, William H. "Bill" Wadleigh of Hampton; two daughters, Virginia "Ginger" and husband Steven Tessier of Nashville, Tenn., and Constance "Connie" and husband Frederick W. Durham of Holliston, Mass; three grandchildren, Alison Dressler, Naomi Weinhold and Michael Durham; two great-grandchildren, James Dressler and April Dressler; three siblings, Alice West, Douglas Hellen and James Hellen; and many nieces and nephews.
