New London - Jane M. White, 70, of Todd Farm Lane died at her home on June 30, 2014, following an extended illness with ALS. She was born in Melrose, Mass., on Aug. 3, 1943, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Cleveland) Moore.Spending her early years in Chester, she, along with her husband, was a 1961 graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry. She continued her education at UNH, Notre Dame College in Manchester and Rivier College in Nashua with degrees in art history, psychology and nursing.Mrs. White had previously resided in Goffstown for 38 years before moving to New London in 2012. She had worked at a variety of jobs over the years, which enabled her to do what she enjoyed, interacting with people. Her work included waitressing at The Balsams and Follansbee Inn in her early years, a wildflower docent at The Garden in the Woods in Framingham, Mass., a docent at the Currier Museum of Art, a school nurse in Weare and school secretary in Dunbarton, a writer for the SooNipi Magazine and most recently as an assistant librarian in the Children's Department of the Bedford Public Library. Mrs. White also held her commercial pilot's license, and in the 1980s was the corporate pilot for her husband's company. She always said her best job was being a mother and homemaker.In addition, she was a member of many organizations, including the ASPCA, Audubon of N.H., Concord Bird & Wildlife Club, The Fells and the Ausbon Sargent Land Trust. Prior to moving to New London, she devoted much time to the St. John Episcopal Church of Dunbarton. Since moving to New London, she was a well-loved member of the St. Andrew Episcopal community.Mrs. White was an accomplished downhill and cross-country skier, enjoyed kayaking, mountain climbing, bird watching, identifying wildflowers, ballroom dancing and art. Listening to jazz, traveling and dining out were also favorite pastimes.Mrs. White was predeceased by a son, Thomas, in 1992. Members of her family surviving include her husband of 50 years, David M. White of New London; a son, Jonathan White, and his longtime girlfriend, Jane Liang, of Lakeville, Mass.; a brother, retired U.S. Air Force Col. Robert C. Moore, M.D., and his wife, Yvonne, currently living in Germany; nieces, nephews and cousins..

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 6, at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Episcopal Church, 52 Gould Road, New London, with the Rev.
